Idea
There was a contest hosted by a social media influencer, inviting participants to create a video about their hometowns. My best friend approached me and asked if we could collaborate on a project about his town. It’s a personal letter and a deeply personal story.
The idea is to capture his emotions at different times in his hometown. It began with excitement—so many new experiences, people, and places. However, everything changed quickly when he realized he wasn’t accepted as he had hoped.
He reached a point where he felt like the problem, believing he wasn’t good enough and didn’t fit in. Ultimately, he made the decision to leave.
Film
We had only one day to film everything, so we planned some shots and generated ideas on the go. We filmed everything using a Sony FX30 in S-Log. We had a tripod and one or two lenses. That was all we needed.
Edit
I later edited everything in DaVinci Resolve. I sent some grading versions to my friend and made changes along the way. The editing process took about 4 to 5 hours, during which he created a thumbnail and a description for the contest.
