Film

Of course the first step was: Filming. I did not had any plan or ideas when I went to Japan in October 2024. I know I just wanted to film something and check what I can do afterwards. So I just filmed whenever I thought: Oh yeah, that could be cool!

Voice over

Pretty quick I was sure, yeah that will be a video about my journey. And I always knew something with love letter would fit. So first, the project was called "A love letter to Japan". Then it became "A love letter to Osaka". I was not happy with that. So later after the edit, it was just "a love letter". The big reveal is at the end of the video. A love letter to all the people in this video.

Cut

After I returned back to Switzerland, I put everything together and made like a first pre-cut. I sorted everything out, searched some outtake video for the end. I used Davinci Resolve.

Color Grading

I knew I wanted to keep it simple, clear and warm. That's why I used one of my own presets I made for this case. So yeah, little bit lazy work here but it did the job. (Of course I needed to fix some scenes)
